Perfect Getaway!

 

Terra Cottage is the perfect place to stay in Antigua! We are a family of 4 (2 adults, a 4 year old, and a 1 year old) and we all stayed in the main cottage. If you have older children or traveling w/ another couple, rent the second cottage! Super cute!! The cottage was very clean, beautifully decorated, landscaped well and newly built. We are adventure-seekers, so this cottage was perfect for us! We cooked breakfast in the awesome kitchen (loved everything about the kitchen...from the faucets to the cutlery drawer) every morning then headed out to the beach of choice that day. We returned home each evening and ate dinner in. The covered porch is the best way to start and end each day (and it keeps the crumbs outside if you have little ones.)The last day we stayed at the house and enjoyed the plunge pool (great for children) and relaxed on the pool-side loungers. I would suggest to take a 1/2 day or so and just enjoy the property! The bed was comfy and the bathroom was spa-like. We also appreciated the quality and quantity of the linens. The home had everything you would ever need or want (including beach toys, grills, and a VITAMIX). Laura was fabulous! She was quick to respond to questions before and during our stay! She even arranged for a pick-up from the airport to the cottage and a rental to be delivered to the cottage...game-changer when you have small children. Thank you, Laura!! I can't say enough good things about our stay. It was by far the best vacation home we have rented (and we've rented around the world). We were so spoiled by the Vitamix! It is now on my list of things to look for in rentals! We will be back and we will for sure be referring friends/family to Terra Cottage! Thanks again for sharing your paradise with us!

Laura was very helpful with the booking arrangements and quickly responded to any enquires we made ranging from car rental to travel arrangements. The cottage was very well equipped and comfortable and the verandas were ideal for relaxing and dining. The bedroom was spacious with a very large comfortable bed with mosquito net over, as well as both air con and a large fan.Mosquitos no problem! The kitchen was equipped to a very high standard as was the crockery etc. The plunge pool was small but very welcome. Laura has local contacts who were very helpful which made our stay hassle free. If you want a holiday rental in Antigua I can’t recommend Terrage Cottage highly enough!

What an amazing place! This was my first time to Antigua and I’d love to come back, specifically to this place. This place was like a home away from home with all the comforts and amenities. It was on a private gated property filled with beautiful plants, trees and flowers! You felt like you were in a little jungle/palm garden. The wrap around porch was perfect for meals outside in the beautiful weather and time out of the sun to play games and have a drink. There is even a hammock for your relaxing vacation needs. The pool was amazing to have in the hot weather and comfy loungers for your sunning needs. We had the opportunity to rent both the cottage and the pool house since we were a small group. The pool house was close but neatly secluded in the palms for privacy and had just what you needed. A luxurious bathroom, a four post netted bed and a sink and necessities for a quick morning coffee/tea on the porch. We’d all meet in the main cottage kitchen for meals. This kitchen has a huge island and everything you need to cook delicious meals. (There is even a BBQ) The cottage was stylish, modern but vacation cosy with a living room, master bedroom and beautiful en-suite. There are two double doors coming off the kitchen and living room to the porch for maximum ocean breeze and quick access to the pool. The master even has its own private porch. And if the ocean breeze wasn’t enough, both buildings have ceiling fans, floor fans and mounted air conditioning units in the bedrooms if you need to get away from the heat. There are views of the ocean from the outdoor dinning table as well as the hammock and you are just a few minutes walk away from the water and minutes drive from the beach. Now have I mentioned how crystal clear and blue the water is and how soft and white the beaches are? And I haven't even gotten to the hospitality yet. Peter and Kathy took great care of us while Laura was away. We never felt alone on the island as Peter and Kathy were there to answer any questions and offer their services to make sure we had the best trip! We rented a car, as I would suggest most to do, and everything is just a short drive away! We went into town to get groceries with ease and could go a little further to explore downtown St. John’s and to find new beaches along the coast. This was by far one of my favourite experiences and it would not have been the same trip without this amazing place!  If you are planning a trip to Antigua, look no further than this place, 100% would recommend!

Thank you for giving us the most beautiful and relaxing getaway vacation. Terra Cottage surpassed all of our expectations. The small details located all around the grounds were truly spectacular and made our stay very intimate. We saw a total of 7 beaches and look forward to returning to see even more! Kathy and Peter were incredible, they answered our many question and always pointed us in the right direction. From dinner at Sheer Rocks, Zip lining in the forest, scooter snorkelling and the Rum Punch, this island has so much to offer.

Terra Cottage Antigua Paradise

Our visit to Antigua and Terra Cottage was absolutely fantastic. We loved the main cottage and guest cottage, the pool and tropical plants all around the property - a private tropical paradise. We just spent 7 days and enjoyed every minute. Laura was amazing for arranging our pickup at the airport by Gregson and had the car rental delivered to the Cottage shortly after our arrival.... It made everything so easy. Kathy and Peter welcomed us and were wonderful at settling us in and coming by to visit. Antigua beaches are stunning! We went to long Bay, Dickinson, half moon bay, Turner beach. Shirley heights Thursday night was fun and Devils Bridge was interesting.  The cottage location is convenient for getting around the island. The guys golfed two rounds of 18 and one round of 9. Great that it was so close as they teed off at 8am and back by noon.

The cottage is well equipped for cooking meals with the Epicurean grocery store near by.

Truly an amazing week of sun and relaxation! We had an excellent vacation and would highly recommend staying at Terra Cottage.

Dear Laura, Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful rentals. We were surprised to find hidden gems (nice bed sheets, local art, balcony off the master bedroom, comfortable classy furniture) throughout both cottages.

 

Gregson was a wealth of knowledge as our driver, giving us facts about the Island and answering our questions. Kathy and Peter kept an eye on us and gave us several tips and tricks to get around the island as well as recommendations on food, sites and local beaches to explore.

 

While we mostly cooked our own meals from food at the nearby Epicurean market 10 minutes from the Cottages, we did eat out a few meals with Mama Pasta at Long Bay Beach being our favourite.

 

Everyone that we encountered were very nice and helpful making this into a vacation to remember. Words cannot express how much we loved spending the week in Antigua with our girls.

Little Piece of Paradise on a Wonderful Island!

 

 

We have never travelled to Antigua and before we left we had to make a decision whether we wanted to stay in an all-inclusive resort or rent our own place. We weighed the options by considering that the all-inclusive facilities usually give you all the conveniences you needed, but at the same time we usually find them not as relaxing as having a place all to ourselves.  Terra Cottage helped us achieve both, not only because if its location and facilities, but also because of the staff who helped us really appreciate the Island of Antigua. Firstly it was easy to get to from the Airport in less than 15 minutes. Gregson was our Driver and he gave us a quick review of places to go and things to see. The cottage is located in Bay Gardens which is a gated community. The Cottage is surrounded by palm trees and the grounds are taken care of really well. We drove up to the cottage and found its first glimpse warm and inviting. When we went inside we noticed the wonderful wood floors and vaulted ceiling. It was a nice combination Island charm with a modern touch. The place was surrounded by a huge porch and had lots of places to sit outside. The pool was a great size where we could lounge and dip in after the hot tropical sun warmed our bodies.( was on average 27C daily). The indoor kitchen and large granite island was modern and we could see ourselves cooking tasty meals for our stay. We found that the local grocery store, the Epicurean had everything we needed. The closest thing to Whole Foods in a Caribbean setting. We also used the outdoor grill to make some of our meals. The big comfy couch overlooking the pool and television set also was the perfect place to relax and catch up on the rest of the world. The bedroom looked modern but the netting around the bed made us feel that we were our to embark on a romantic jungle getaway. The washroom was big and spacious and we loved the shower which was surrounded by natural tile and stone. Overall you can see that the place was freshly built and the owners thought out the space to make it a perfect escape to paradise. Trevor, who was the property caretaker was also very helpful and made sure everything was working and clean. We really enjoyed our stay in Antigua and Terra Cottage played a big part of our enjoyment of the Island. We look forward to going back!

Beautiful property with modern amenities and tastefully decorated. This newly-constructed (2018) cottage has everything you need to have a private and independent vacation. The plunge pool is a really nice addition when you want to cool off without traveling to the beach. We stayed 8 nights and had such a blast. We really enjoyed the independence to cook for ourselves and have a flexible schedule. We rented a car for the week, which added even more flexibility. Laura and her team were a great help in answering any questions we had prior to arrival and during our stay, and recommending additional providers for tours and destinations. Antigua jewel this property is. It was clean and comfy and romantic. Huge wrap around porch with table and chairs for morning breakfasts. Has everything you can possibly need for a great vacation. The caretakers were very kind and informative. We felt very safe here. I highly recommend this property. We will definitely be back. All the attractions are within an hours drive. We saw all 4 corners of the island. The people of Antigua were very kind and polite. Loved this vacation.

Beautiful cottage in a perfect location to travel
the island but also to relax and chill

We have just returned from our first trip to Antigua where we stayed at the Terra Cottage, a beautifully decorated, fantastically equipped cottage. The cottage is immaculate and so tastefully decorated with gorgeous little touches from the pineapple bedlights to the beautiful nautical linen. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a grill out on the terrace for grilling the freshly caught local fish for enjoying whilst sitting out on the terrace in the evening listening to the sounds of the islands singing tree frogs. One of our new favourite things to do!

 

The cottage is located within a short drive to the Epicaurean supermarket where you can buy everything you would ever need for your stay. There are also some great wine stores nearby and the fish and fruit markets in St John’s are a must do for fantastic local produce which you can buy to stock the big American style fridge freezer in the cottage. The cottage is located in the north of the island at Hodges Bay which was a perfect location for us as we loved to travel around visiting one of the many beautiful beaches in the morning, stop for lunch at one of the great restaurants or funky beach bars then returning to the cottage for a swim in our own pool watching the sun go down before cooking in the open plan cottage kitchen.

 

Our hosts were so kind and welcoming from our initial booking to our seven night stay. If there was anything we needed to know before we arrived Laura was able to advise and any queries or requests we had were dealt with immediately by the amazing island hosts looking after the cottage guests.

 

We would definitely recommend having your own cottage, being able to travel around and dine out but also having your own space to relax and swim and cook is the best way if visiting the island to get a true sense of the place. And the Terra Cottage is the perfect place to do that.
